About Me

Hi, I’m Courtney! Thanks for visiting my blog. I always feel cheated when people’s “About me” pages are empty, so here’s my attempt at not being a hypocrite.

I work full-time in online science communication, and I’m lucky that my job allows me to do all sorts of fun and interesting things that I enjoy, from writing and editing to print and web design.

I am also a part-time MSc student at the Open University, studying Space Science and Technology. I am particularly interested in human spaceflight, space weather, data analysis and project management.

I have lived with mental health issues for most of my life, namely complex PTSD (previously diagnosed as depression and anxiety). This informs a lot of the choices I make in life, so I am a big believer in being open and encouraging other people to be as well.

I live with my partner and a sad lack of pets in North West London. In my free time I volunteer at the Science Museum, do improv, read, knit, cook, listen to podcasts, explore London, drink tea and spend way too much time online. And occasionally blog.

If you’d like to contact me, you can do so by emailing cw6669[at]ou[dot]ac[dot]uk. My handle on most things is @stellarbuffoon.

Here’s a picture of me with a giant tardigrade.
